*#/ Space Robots - Upgrade: Beta Overview
Dear community, this article aims to keep you updated on the progress of our forthcoming Upgrading Tool, which will allow you to make your Space Robots' NFTs stronger and grant them a visual makeover.
//: What is the Upgrading tool, and what is its purpose?
The Upgrading Functionality, as well as its Beta Version, is a tool that will be available directly on the Space Robots' dAPP. Thanks to Upgrading the Space Robots holders will have the capacity to equip their NFTs with new spare parts - called RoboParts - to give them more power and a customized look!
Space Robots are composed of 8 attributes: 7 RoboParts of which 5 are upgradable + 1 Background
Each RoboPart has associated Attack and Defense stats
By replacing some RoboParts with stronger ones, holders can increase the total Attack and Defense stats of their Space Robots
In the future Space Robots' ecosystem, rewards providing ROI to holders will, among others, be positively correlated with the Attack and Defense stats of their Space Robots
//: When will the full Upgrading tool be available?
It is going to be achieved in 3 Phases – Phase 1 is a Beta version of the Tool, Phase 2 is when the Smart Contract gets shaped and the Upgrades start getting processed, and Phase 3 is a surprise concept that we are preparing for the community.
The Space Robots team has decided to prioritize utility over NFT issuing for now.

//: Why a Beta version first?
The Beta version is a preparation of the actual dAPP.
You will be able to customize your Space Robots NFT with RoboParts that you own in your wallet or choose from the full list of the entire ecosystem’s RoboParts without interacting with a Smart Contract. The result will be saved as a template.
Until the completion of the next phase, you’ll have enough time to snipe the fitting RoboParts from the Secondary Markets and get them ready for The Upgrade.
A Beta version is helping us stress testing and hard-loading the application. It provides us a gap of time and space to react on implications and inter-customizations between the Space Robots NFT and how the application is being built.

//: How will the Upgrading tool work?
When the full Upgrading tool will be live, you will be able to customize your Space Robots NFTs by replacing specific RoboParts with other RoboParts that you own.
Currently, you can obtain RoboParts by unlocking Robopacks PH1 or PH2, or by purchasing some directly on marketplaces like Dead Rare, XOXNO and FrameIT.
Regarding the process, it will be possible to upgrade several traits at once. When you will have chosen which traits to upgrade, your initial Space Robots NFT will get destroyed and a new one equipped with all the chosen RoboParts will be minted while keeping the unchanged traits identical.
Replaced RoboParts will not return to your inventory.
You cannot switch Roboparts indefinitely.
Burning replaced RoboParts helps to keep the supply for RoboParts reasonably low, knowing that new RoboParts will be issued as Space Robots' staking rewards in the future.

The Upgrading tool is taking place in 3 phases and will be ready in Q2 2022.

Later Edit: Due to unforeseen issues encountered during the development process of the Upgrading Tool we'll be facing delays, thus the final tool will be ready Q3-Q4, followed by the next milestones from the roadmap.
